How We Got Started

Our journey began in 2017 when Claire Akin, a devoted plant lover from a family of green thumbs, founded Houseplant Resource Center. Inspired by her grandmother's 70+ year old plants and her mother's prized roses, Claire wanted to create a place where fellow plant enthusiasts could learn and grow without the overwhelm. She believes everyone deserves to experience the joy and beauty of healthy houseplants.

In 2024 Claire entrusted the company to us, and we've been honored to carry on her legacy while nurturing our own unique path forward.

We're on a mission to simplify plant care, empower you with knowledge, and foster a supportive community where every plant parent—novice to expert—feels at home. We believe in offering products that are effective, gentle, and easy to use, and also align with our commitment to quality and sustainability.
